BE PROFESSIONALLY ASSESSED BY AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
It is through performing regular daily living tasks that we maintain our physical and mental well being. Occupational therapists recognise the importance of being able to perform activities in maintaining our health and well being. They use equipment, modify tasks and make adaptations to the environment to enable people to remain as independent as possible.
Sometimes we are unable to carry out our normal daily living tasks either because of physical trauma, through illness or simply because of the natural ageing process. The Occupational Therapist in collaboration with you, will complete a comprehensive functional assessment, make recommendations and provide the necessary equipment to maintain/restore/increase your independence.

Are you, or a family member, experiencing difficulty performing every day living tasks such as dressing yourself, using the bath or shower, preparing meals, cleaning your home, or managing the steps and stairs? Speak to an Occupational Therapist who will advise you, and where appropriate, recommend strategies and equipment that will maintain your safety and independence.
Don’t let age or disability prevent you from doing some or all of the activities that you would like to do. Utilise technology and equipment to maintain and improve your quality of life.
“I wish to thank Damien Kidd who gave wonderful attention to the needs of my husband. His advice and the equipment that he provided was exactly what was required. I can recommend him to anyone who has similar needs.”
Kathleen McCaufield, Co Carlow
