It is through performing regular daily living tasks that we maintain our physical and mental well being. Occupational therapists recognise the importance of being able to perform activities in maintaining our health and well being. They use equipment, modify tasks and make adaptations to the environment to enable people to remain as independent as possible.
Sometimes we are unable to carry out our normal daily living tasks either because of physical trauma, through illness or simply because of the natural ageing process.
The Occupational Therapist, in collaboration with you, will complete a comprehensive functional assessment, make recommendations and provide the necessary equipment to maintain/restore/increase your independence.Practical Therapy Solutions was set up to provide both Occupational Therapy services as well as the equipment required.
Damien Kidd Bsc Hons is our principal Occupational Therapist and Director of Practical Therapy Solutions. He graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Occupational Therapy at Trinity College Dublin. He has practiced in both hospital and community settings, working mostly with the elderly population. His interests are running, music, GAA, and fishing.
We look forward to hearing from you.
“My family engaged Damien to complete an Occupational Therapy Housing Report for my mother who needed a ground floor accessible bathroom. Damien provided a friendly, helpful and professional service securing a grant in excess of that which was initially approved for my mother. I would highly recommend his services.”
